Grain march to Mendiola (in front of the Presidential Palace)

Gathering of church people, farmers, workers, indigenous peoples, women, youth from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and USA.
Highlights of the event are:

  • Story-telling and testimonies of people in the grassroots that bear the brunt of globalization
  • Theological Reflection on the moral and ethical implications of globalization

  • Grain March to the Department of Trade and Industry

This is a build up event for an Ecumenical Conference on War, Debt and Trade and Peace Festival during the WTO ministerial meeting in Hong Kong.

Launch of Stop the New Round campaign towards Hong Kong

The relaunch of the successful national coalition formed ahead of the Cancun WTO Ministerial Meeting in September 2003. Stop the New round will intensify their struggle in the run up to Hong Kong in December 2005.
