Protest at the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings

The theme of these years mobilization against the World Bank and IMF During their spring meetings is "A Better World is Under Construction!" and sure enough it is. Around the world each day people are in there own way embodying the struggle for justice and creating a better world

On Saturday, April 16th converge at the World Bank and IMF (18th and H Sts. NW). Come wearing and carrying construction themed props for a grand old time symbolically demolishing the Bank and Fund and building something better in their place.

Sunday 10: Trade Justice from a Faith Perspective
Faith groups focus on trade issues.

Monday 11: Fairness for Farmers
Oxfam America kicks off its campaign to stop the US and other rich countries from dumping their surplus crops on developing countries.

Tuesday 12: Check Out Fair Trade
Consumers send a message to supermarkets around the country, encouraging them to buy more Fair Trade coffee and other products.

Wednesday 13: CAFTA Call In
Contact your member of Congress and tell them you oppose CAFTA and you want them to come out against it too.

Thursday 14: Trade Justice Education Night
Organize a panel discussion on trade, show a movie or host an Oxfam Hunger Banquet.

Friday and Saturday 15-16: Alternative Trade Fair/Fair Trade Fashion Show
Set up your own local marketplace with Fair Trade food and crafts or hold a Fair Trade fashion show.

Sunday 17 and beyond: Global Week of Action Closing Celebration
Celebrate and reflect on your accomplishments.
