NEIT’s associate in science degree in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration
The Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology program at NEIT offers students an associate in science degree in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration technology. This two-year degree program is designed to prepare students to enter the HVAC industry as a technician. Graduates can also pursue a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Students develop technical skills and learn to troubleshoot and repair industry-standard equipment. Students also learn the installation of commercial and residential systems. After completion of the program, graduates can take EPA Section 608 certification exams and seek employment in the field.
Students must complete three employment-ready certification exams. Those who pass with 70% or higher earn a universal license. Students can also take HVAC 1 and HVAC 2 apprenticeship exams. Upon completion of the program, students can continue their studies at Northern Virginia Community College or a post-secondary school.
